Well, the best thing I have given you is your mother and the best thing she has given me is you. We are a little weepy on this Mother's Day and our emotions continue to run very close to the surface. I just want to say this is an extremely challenging transition and yet I know we will be made equal to the task. It is an inspiration to us to know our children and grandchildren are praying for us daily.I keep holding onto the thought I have already shared with you that we heard at the MTC attributed to Elder Packer when addressing Senior Couples and Mission Presidents, "I promise you in the words of the Lord himself that if you will take care of His children, He will take care of yours"
The people who have been caring for us on this end and a fulfillment of the promise made in D&C 84:88. These couples who have hosted us and trained us have truly been angels to bear us up. The training has not been overwhelming but the charge to help the poor and the needy and to relieve suffering can be. In South Africa there are plenty of poor and needy. I have to answer a skype call. Love you all and I'll write more later.
Love, Dad
