Dear ones - I'm so sorry that our contact with you has been so spotty! There's really nothing we can do about it. Hopefully it will all get straightened out once we get to Lubumbashi - a week from today! We're having quite a period of adjustment even though everyone has been so wonderful to us. Just the change in time zones has been hard. But we're hanging in!!! Not to worry at all! The missionaries in the area office have been training us - almost non-stop - and have really gone out of their way to try to make us comfortable.
We're staying in a very old, but very nice hotel. Total "old-school" - would remind you of the 1940's. In its day, I'm sure that it was a showcase of grandeur. Even now the woodwork would remind you of the finest you've seen. The personnel are great and food is very good.
We're trying to make arrangements to skype with you. We're thinking of calling tonight so that it would be 11:00 and 12:00 or so Saturday morning for you. We'll try to call more than one home. I'm sorry to not be more specific. If we don't get to talk to you, please know that we love you all and will keep trying our best to be in touch. Love, Mom and Dad
